Doing Our Bit
Goodlife is going greener!
Goodlife have extended their factory to include new packaging equipment that will take 90 tonnes of packaging out of landfill every year. The new machinery enables smaller boxes to be used and eliminated the need for plastic flow wrap inside the cardboard boxes.
This factory investment enables 100% of Goodlife’s packaging can now be recycled! We are looking at other energy saving projects over the next couple of years to reduce our energy consumption and carbon footprint.
Goodlife are supporting The World Land Trust who are working with partner organisation, REGUA, to protect a reserve in one of the largest remaining areas of Brazil’s Atlantic rainforest.
Goodlife are helping the World Land Trust to protect a ‘Catwalk’ Corridor in a Rainforest Reserve.
Goodlife are donating a percentage of their sales to The World Land Trust to raise funds to buy up land to create a safe corridor between existing forests to increase the size of the Rainforest Reserve. By creating a ‘Catwalk’ Corridor we will be giving ‘our’ Big Cats: Jaguars, Puma, Ocelot & Margay, the room they need to roam safely.
By protecting their vital forest habitats we will be ensuring their safety for the future.
Conservation in Brazil
The Atlantic rainforest is considered one of the most endangered and ecologically important eco-regions in the world. Due primarily to clearing of forests for coffee plantations and logging for hardwoods there is now only 7% of the original area remaining, most of which consists of isolated fragmented patches. The massive destruction of this “Global Hotspot for Biodiversity” has been described as “one of the biological tragedies of this century” and makes preventing more loss of the Atlantic rainforest a priority for international conservation efforts.
Support Us
We need your help to prevent further clearing of this forested area by people coming in from the city simply looking for a holiday home.
Help us to reverse the devastating affects of the deforestation of this endangered area and support Goodlife with the Catwalk campaign see our featured packs for details.
Forest Replenishment
With your help deforested areas can be replenished in as little as three years, by replanted trees which can grow significantly to offer shelter and protection for many species of wildlife and join up these fragmented conservation areas.
The World Land Trust has already begun to make excellent progress on the conservation of the Brazilian rainforest but still have a long, long way to go. Below show the progress of the Atlantic Rainforest project so far and the areas that have been purchased and placed under conservation.
